Jim was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy, a neurological disorder which causes weakness and impaired function in the legs and arms and which can be fatal. Jim credits adult stem cell therapy for saving his life; allowing him to not only attend his daughters wedding, but walk her down the isle.
Elizabeth was born with osteogenesis imperfecta. This condition prevents normal bone growth. At birth both legs, ribs and collar bones were broken. Additional breaks occurred frequently due to extremely brittle bones. She participated in a Stem Cell clinical trial, grew beyond expectations and was even able to walk on her own.
